Pastors Message
NOVEMBER 2008

Connecting with the God of all Riches.
We are living in a time where so many people believe that possessing great wealth is the key to their individual happiness. However, regularly we hear of millionaires and even billionaires living lives which are without meaning. We watch their children wandering aimlessly through life, many seemingly having a self-destruct button which ultimately destroys them.
Why does this happen?
Because the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil.
Material wealth in itself is not evil. It is the love of that money which destroys people. When we have a love of money, we become addicted to making it, multiplying it, hoarding it and spending it.
However when we come to a position where we connect with the God of all riches, however much money anyone of us has can be truly enjoyed because those riches are not controlling us but being released into God´s kingdom for His purposes.
Praise God, that through Jesus Christ, we can connect!
When that divine connection takes place and we are gloriously born again, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our hearts and we begin the adventure of the truly privileged, discovering our riches in Christ.
Now to be convinced that we can receive great riches from someone, we must be convinced that the person giving the riches to us is capable of delivering.
We certainly know that any time a person writes a cheque and hands it to us, the cheque is only as good as the writer's ability to pay.
As children of God, we must know that our heavenly Father possesses everything we need in life, a promise He makes to us from cover to cover, throughout the Bible.
Paul opens his letter to the Ephesians by declaring the grace, resources, and power of God, the author of all wealth. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Paul considers the foundation for all of our blessings in Christ to be this fact: God is blessed. He is not frail, impoverished, or impotent. He has every resource at His disposal, both things seen and unseen. Nothing lies beyond His ownership. God is fully capable and able in all situations, at all times, and regardless of circumstance to exert control over His resources. God has authority over all things. He can and will do what He says He can and will do when it comes to blessings and the transfer of wealth.
May we all know, at this time of economic hardship, that the Lord God Almighty is the source of our supply, trusting in Him only for that which we have and that which He will supply, remembering always that every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
We love you and are so blest to be in fellowship with you all,
Alan and Lynne
