We run a Sunday School for all ages from 0 to 16 during our regular Sunday morning meeting.
Our Sunday School groups are run to a high standard by a team of dedicated leaders. As a church we believe that our children are both the church of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
We therefore invest in them as such: training them to be strong in God's Word, in prayer, in worship, in moving in the power of the Holy Spirit, and in ministry. We have a specially designed four-year curriculum which supports our vision in a fun, dynamic and creative way.
Please look below for details of each of the Sunday School groups.
Our crèche for the Under-3s is called Bubbles. It is a place where the very little ones can come and play with their parent/carer. We have lots of lovely toys available! The children will also hear a story from the Bible, and sing songs together. The older ones have a craft option which is linked to the day's story.
For the 3s–5s we run a group called B.L.A.S.T. (an acronym for Bible Learning And Sharing Together). This group is a lot of fun, with games, Bible stories, singing, and crafts. Parents/carers are welcome to stay with their child, or to leave their child in our care if he/she is happy for you to do so.
K*Nekt is the group name for the 6–11s. This is a FUN, fast-moving and loud multi-media zone, where the kids play games, learn from the Bible, sing together, pray, and do other activities in their teams. Each week a take-home sheet is handed out for completion, which includes the memory verse for the week. Returned sheets are rewarded, and prizes are given at the end of each term for the team with the most points. We use DVDs, acting-out, puppets, object lessons, and a lot of slides to accompany our teaching.
For the 11–15s we have a group called IGNITE. It is our desire to equip
the young people in AVCC to Think like God, Live like Jesus and Minister in the Holy Spirit. We follow a curriculum covering relevant issues from a biblical perspective. We also have a monthly bible quiz to encourage our young people to read and meditate on the word of God at home. We want our young people to have a good knowledge of the Bible and learn to apply biblical principles to their everyday lives.
